Lachlan is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Engineering Science at St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, specialising in electronics, software engineering, and artificial intelligence.
His passion for engineering was evident from an early age. At just 15, he was awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship—recognising future leaders in the field—after designing and building a functional hovercraft using everyday household items, including a leaf blower and a shower curtain.
Through the Arkwright programme, Lachlan gained hands-on industry experience across a range of organisations. He shadowed the Product Review Board at Cobham Mission Systems, contributing to work on their inflight refuelling technology, and participated in a NASA outreach programme at Kennedy Space Centre. He also collaborated with the Royal Air Force and academic research teams across several universities.
He went on to study Engineering Science at Oxford as an undergraduate, where he specialised in electronics and software systems. During this time, he carried out research into the application of AI in digital signal processing and completed further training in leadership, environmental sustainability, startup management, and project coordination.
Alongside his academic work, Lachlan has taken on a leadership role in Oxford’s Formula Student electric vehicle team, contributing to the design and development of the car’s high-performance powertrain systems.
Beyond the university, Lachlan is an experienced tutor. He delivers career talks in schools across the UK and online to students worldwide. He has also created educational resources for extended virtual work experience programmes and provides expert coaching for students preparing for Oxbridge admissions tests and interviews.

Isaac Hudd is a highly experienced Oxford admissions tutor with a distinguished academic background and a passion for guiding students through one of the world's most competitive entry processes. A first-class graduate of the University of Oxford in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) in 2022, Isaac has furthered his expertise with a Master’s degree in Critical Theory at King’s College London, where he achieved the highest possible grade. His solid grounding in analytical thinking and logical reasoning has made him a sought-after mentor. He specializes in the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) and has developed a systematic approach that builds from foundational propositional logic to the nuanced application of past exam papers.
In his capacity as Director of Gabble Publishing Ltd, Isaac channels his academic rigor and innovative mindset into leading a forward-thinking publishing enterprise. In this role, he oversees strategic decision-making and operational management, ensuring that the company remains agile and responsive to the evolving demands of the digital media landscape. Isaac leverages cutting-edge technologies—including insights from artificial intelligence—to streamline content production and enhance reader engagement. His leadership at Gabble Publishing is marked by a commitment to excellence and a collaborative approach, fostering an environment where creative ideas flourish.
Isaac’s academic research probes the intriguing intersection of personal uniqueness, singularity, and the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence within contemporary politics and ethics. His work critically examines how emerging AI systems challenge traditional notions of individuality, suggesting that as technology increasingly mediates our identities, the very concept of personal uniqueness is being reshaped. By exploring the implications of singularity, Isaac analyses the socio-political shifts that occur when AI-driven processes intersect with governance and personal agency. This interdisciplinary inquiry not only deepens our understanding of the transformative power of AI but also highlights its potential to redefine democratic engagement and the politics of identity. Isaac has published their research in Review Magazine (New York) and has papers forthcoming in the Durham Journal of Postgraduate English and Art Review Oxford. They will soon be starting a PhD at King’s College London on this topic.
